Pedestrian Killed Sunday in Union City Identified

Mohamad Dastagirzada, 69, was struck and killed Sunday morning on Mission Boulevard near Daggett Avenue.

A pedestrian who was struck and killed in Union City on Sunday morning has been identified by the Alameda County coroner's bureau as a 69-year-old Mohamad Dastagirzada.

Officers responded to the report of a major-injury collision on Mission Boulevard near Daggett Avenue at about 5:15 a.m., Union City police said.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling south on Mission when it struck Dastagirzada, who was in the roadway, police said.

The driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

The coroner's bureau has not yet determined where Dastagirzada lived.
