America’s Most Wanted has received tips ranging from potential areas of interest to a sighting of the Volkswagen associated with Sierra LaMar’s disappearance. The tips were relayed the weekend after the national crime show aired its latest coverage of the LaMar case on May 11. Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jose Cardoza said the national show has continued to forward tips to the Sheriff’s Office as they’re received. Four tips came in last weekend, and more tips may have been sent throughout the week, Cardoza said. Although Cardoza couldn’t specifically comment on the anonymous tips, he did say what cities they came from and vaguely mentioned their relation to the LaMar case. The first tip came from a caller about 700 miles away from …

Witnesses are coming forward with details about the red Volkswagen Jetta that's being associated with the disappearance of Sierra LaMar, according to the teen's mother.
News about a red Volkswagen Jetta being associated with the disappearance of Morgan Hill teen Sierra Lamar is apparently prompting witnesses to come forward, according to Marlene LaMar. “It’s just that, with the release of the vehicle that’s out and talking to the media, more people are coming forward,” LaMar said. “I can’t disclose specifically, but law enforcement is interviewing witnesses that are coming forward because of all of that. More people are coming forward, so that’s been a positive thing." Although detectives working on the LaMar case won’t release many details regarding the Volkswagen’s association, LaMar said authorities are currently looking into whether the VW is the right vehicle, and whether surveillance footage depicts…

At approximately 7:45 yesterday morning, Union City police surrounded a home on Almedan Blvd in response to the sounding of the home's alarm, police said. Upon arriving at the home, the officers noticed that the front door had been forcibly opened, police said. Officers heard suspicious noises coming from inside the home, but discovered that the noises were being made by the homeowners' pets, police said. According to police, the home appeared to have been burglarized, though the perpetrators had fled before the officers arrived. There are no suspects. The homeowners were not inside the home at the time of the burglary, said police. It is unclear whether any property was removed from the home, police said.
