May 14,2013 Union City, California. Police said the first suspect pushed both homewoners down toRead More the floor and "forcefully removed the elderly female's jewelry." The second suspect found a young adult male locked in a bedroom, struck him in the head with the gun, ransacked the bedroom and took more property, police said. Both suspects fled on foot to a waiting vehicle, described as a newer model silver Audi sedan or BMW with chrome rims and tinted black windows. The vehicle was last seen being driven past Kitiyama Elementary School onto Medallion Drive, according to a Union City Police press release. Now this is about rich Black kids, with guns and driving BMWs, Attacking Elderly Whites in Union City. A little "political Vandelism" did not do this. This is a true "hate crime" against Whites yet it is reported as a "home invasion Robbery". They followed the Elderly White guy home from the store and pushed there way into the house and hurt everybody as they robbed them. Pre-selected an Elderly White Guy, because of hate" thencommited a crime against him and his family. The Political painting on a Political office was not a hate crime but a "political Statement". Get it Strait.

Here are some patch photos. you will notice the children marching with the" Filipino AdvocatesRead More for justice" banner all the way up to the New Haven Unified School District office. you could be on to a super idea! Online education. No ecological impacts. Everyone works at theirRead More own speed and capability. They get the best teacher every time because we can choose the lesson. Do anytime before midnight the same day if there is homework just like in college for those who sleep late and are always truant in regular school, no computer or too young and nobody at home, can go to computer centers. LOL You can name your own computer instead of school names. We can afford it better, cheaper for parents than school taxes, no administrators everywhere you look. Okay, I was just kidding...I think it's one issue at a time. School naming, school board, violating the Brown Act, address issues of recall, new elections, listening to the public, elected officials not following district policy, School Superintendent who knew or should have known it was a Brown Act violation, should be fired or not?, put issue on ballot by referendum or not?, let other elected officials write to editor instead of meeting with their voters?, Nobody trying to correct the errors made?, then discuss new high school. I agree with other letter - students being abused in school for maybe years now, bad test scores and they all say they know why but as educators they haven't fixed the problem yet, budget is non existent but we can afford all new band and athletic uniforms for the school with the new name LOL Taxpaying without representation

Right now, the park next to Cabelio School, has a generic name called" Vertrans Park". WhyRead More not rename it to Itlion-Chavez-VeraCruse Park and have a statue of all Three holding picket signs that sat "Honor Labor" in 3 different languages. Itliong's in Tagolog, Chavez's in Spanish and Veracruze's in English. The new developer, of the SOLD Cabelio School, must pay $10,000.00 into the Union City park fund for each unit built. 46 units is $460,000.00 towards the monument and improvments to the park, unless Union City takes it away to other parks. Better be there at the "Planing Commision" meetings to get what you want. We have a "Flight 93" memorial, why not a "Labor" Memorial?

What are we now a Communist state. the 3 people should have voted it down. I now that sounds wrongRead More it's the truth. We shall see Jerome, we shall see. If the School Board has premeditated their decision then I guessRead More you may be right. On the other hand, they may wake up a sleeping lion. You see, we have lived here for 37 years. Our youngest is now 40 years old, they all played American LL, played in the UCSL, CYO, were involved in Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, went to Cabello, Alvarado Middle School, and Logan where they played varsity sports, and we the parents participated as Coaches, League Officials, Logan Boosters, including Bingo and Sponsors. We have a network of long term friends in the neighborhood. So, my friend, if you think our opinion doesn't matter, think again.

Union City was suposed to "unite" the townships of Decoto, Alvarado and Hew Haven into aRead More UNION that would stop the anexation into Hayward in 1959 when Hayward tryed to anex the whole lot into South Hayward. Today, most have forgotten this and want "one upsmanship" to re-name what the founders never intended to change. Keeping the identities and history intact. Re-naming Schools after labor leaders when the School District does not Honor labor in Contracts, it has with contractors, service providers and even with it's own teachers, like what happened to all the Music Teachers and Band Leaders, does not honor the persons they are naming the Schools after at all. What Larry Itliong. Philip Vera Cruz and Cesar Chavez all had in common was getting workers united to gain a fair share in the wealth of California dominated by Agriculture and Land Barons. Now that the School District is commited to naming their schools after these labor leaders, they need to step up and stop playing Games with Labor. Union City needs to be a UNION TOWN and New Haven Unified needs to do it's part and not just give "lip Sevice" to ethnic groups by saying they "Honor Labor" when they realy don't. Watch who gets the School building and modification contracts with that $29.2 Million they had bestowed on them. it should stay local by hireing local workers through local labor unions, not give pink slips to garner Votes in local Bond measures and put "Labor History" into the curiculum.

"Disregard the Surgery" ? Perhaps an accurate statement, because the heart of AlavaradoRead More Middle School is about to be removed. This school board (the Filipinos) are incredibly biased and are paying back those who voted for them. They have no concept of who the stakeholders are, how to hold multiple public hearings at different venues and times, and basically how to run the schools business. How on earth did these people get elected? Oh, they are Filipino which over and over again is all the qualifications needed for the ignorant 27% of the city. As someone said above they people for the change are all about diversity as long as it's their ethnicity that is recognized.

You know that's actually a good idea. If anything, I think the $10,000 can be used to make a statueRead More that can be built on the park that describes who the park was named after and all the contributions Vera Cruz and Itliong made. I mean, as a Filipino, it's pretty cool to have a school named after important Filipino figures, but the park seems like a good way for recognition instead and everyone is happy... or happier.

As a Filipino and AMS alumni, I'm iffy on the name change. As a Filipino, I really do appreciate theRead More name change more than you guys know. Most people don't know these two men and a lot of it has to do with them not even being written in textbooks. The name change brings honor and it can also be an opportunity for people to really get to know a piece of American history. Now... the whole thing about "turf wars" and "gangs" is just so ridiculous. If you're against renaming a school because of "upcoming turf wars," what does that say about the Union City community as a whole? You're really spitting on Chavez, Huertas, Vera Cruz, and Itliong's memories by doing something as stupid as "fighting over territory." Those four people were PARTNERS... they were FRIENDS. They would never want people to be against one another, especially in their names. So if you appreciate their contributions, the "turf war" thing needs to stop. What I'm more concerned about is the money. $10,000 is not enough to change a school's name; there's more than just switching out blocks of letters. I'm opposed to draining people's money just to gain some ethnic recognition and really, that's not something I would be proud of. All in all, the name change is meaningful to me, but at the same time, it seems to come at an inopportune time. If anything, I think what would be more effective is building a statue with a template describing their contributions.

My husband and I said the same thing when we saw the banner up. This country has become so focusedRead More on "politically correct" that it only seems to apply to the minority. This country was founded on religious principles and we respect those that believe differenly or choose not to believe at all. That being said, if we respect their decision to believe one way and allow them to talk/celebrate/protest in regard to it, why can't the Christians do the same. We've swung too far the other way and I think it breeds intolerance. You say Hannaka, I say Christmas. It's all good...celebrate what you like and enjoy youself and don't be afraid to say it.
