From pumpkins and tractor rides to corn mazes and ziplines, there's plenty to do at local pumpkin patches throughout the Bay Area. Here are five to choose from:
Perry Family Pumpkin Patch is a family-owned, certified organic, vegetable farm located at 34600 Ardenwood Blvd. in Fremont. This pumpkin patch gives families a chance to pick their pumpkins and buy the accessories needed to decorate them. Tractor rides, a hay pyramid and scarecrows are also at the farm, which is open between 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the weekends through Oct. 31.
With three East Bay locations, you’re sure to find the right pumpkin from this family’s pumpkin patches. Operating since 1984, the family’s pumpkin patch in Castro Valley also offers rides and attractions, including a super slide. The three locations are Rowell Ranch Rodeo Park at 9711 Dublin Canyon Road in Castro Valley; Alameda County Fairgrounds off Bernal and Valley avenues in Pleasanton; and Forest Home Farms Historic Park, 19953 San Ramon Valley Blvd. in San Ramon. All three locations are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday through Saturday.
Visit this farm’s pumpkin patch on six acres and find your way through a cornfield maze, too. You can even visit with the farm’s animals and kids can get their faces painted on the weekends. The farm is located off of the Airway Boulevard exit on Interstate 580 in Livermore. Pumpkin patch hours are Mondays through Fridays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Oct. 31.
Looking for that Old West town feel while searching for the right pumpkin? Head over to Joan’s Farm and Pumpkin Patch, 4351 Mines Road in Livermore. You can go through mazes and go for a hay ride and more. This pumpkin patch is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Oct. 31.
You’ll have to go over the hill for this one, but this family farm has a wide array of pumpkins but is known most for its corn mazes. The farm also has obstacle courses for people of all ages, including pony rides for the kids and ziplines for the adults. The farm is located at 501 S. Manthey Road in Lathrop. The attraction opens at 10 a.m. daily; entry gates close at 8 p.m. Attractions usually begin closing at 9 p.m
