Winning Resumes Workshop

Join the Tri-Cities One Stop Career Center as they host their latest job workshop series at this Wednesday at the Union City Library at 1 p.m. This week's workshop topic is Winning Resumes. No registration is required for the event.

SAVE's Open Doors

Get a free lunch — with a side of inspiration and empowerment — at Safe Alternatives to Violent Environments' Open Doors Luncheon this Thursday at noon at the Nakamura Clinic (33077 Alvarado-Niles Rd.) in Union City. The event features survivor stories and an art display exploring their experiences and their healing. Guests must register for free by Tuesday at http://www.eventbrite.com/event/7624732781.

Acacia Creek Fall Fashion Show

Residents of Acacia Creek will give back to the community at their third annual Fall Fashion Show and Harvest Lunch this Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at the Acacia Creek Retirement Community (34400 Mission Blvd. in Union City). Held on National Make a Difference Day, proceeds from the event will benefit the New Haven Schools Foundation and the HERS Breast Cancer Foundation. Representatives from both organizations will model clothing donated by local stores. Tickets are $35. Reserve your seat by contacting Acacia Creek at 510-441-3717. 

Safe Trick-or-Treat and Halloween Party

Residents of AlmaVia Assisted Living will host this safe event for children Saturday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at their living community, located at 33883 Alvarado-Niles Rd. Designed for children 10 and under, the event will feature treats, storytelling, games and more. 

UCLS Halloween Carnival

Join Union City Leisure Services for a safe, fun-filled Halloween carnival this Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Holly Community Center. Designed for children 3 to 12 years old, this event boasts a haunted house, games, prizes, treats and more. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door.
