CITY MANAGERS OF UNION CITY

Union City operates under a "Council-Manager" form of government.  Five councilmembers are elected to four-year overlapping terms.  The Council determines policy, adopts ordinances and resolutions, and adopts the budget.  The City Council appoints a City Manager, whose responsibility is to carry out the Council's policy in terms of the day-to-day administration of the city.  The City Council meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month for regular sessions.

1979-1995 - Karen Smith
1995-2002 - Mark Lewis
2002-2003 - David Berger
