Keep your eyes on the Logan softball team this season.
According to high school sports website MaxPreps.com, the Logan girls rank fifth in the country in preseason rankings.
Pleasanton’s Amador Valley High School ranks first in the nation. They had an almost perfect run last season, going undefeated until losing to Logan 1-0 in the North Coast Section Division I championship game last season.
The ranking is a big jump for Logan, who ranked No. 23 in 2012's preseason rankings, according to MaxPreps.com.
Last season, the girls banked 21 wins, falling only to Amador Valley in the regular season — a loss they avenged in the championship match.
Senior pitcher Raeann Garza will runs the mound for Logan with a 0.94 ERA and .358 batting average, according to MaxPreps.com
Other returning players to watch are catcher Caley Banansea, with a .330 batting average, and Kimberly Goulart, who has a .305 batting average.
