How Good Is Logan's Football Team?

The undefeated Colts hope to prove themselves against a tough San Ramon Valley High squad on Friday night

Can the Logan football team beat a team from the other side of the hills?

San Ramon Valley High travels to Union City to battle undefeated James Logan High. The game begins at 7 p.m. Friday.

Seventh ranked San Ramon Valley has an 8-3 record this season. Their only losses have come to Folsom, De La Salle and Monte Vista.

The Wolves advanced into the second round by trouncing Castro Valley High 42-14 last week.

San Ramon Valley is led by Cal-bound QB Zach Kline and running back Jordan Weiss.

They'll be up against second ranked Logan High, which had a bye last week. The Colts are 10-0 this season. In their past six games, they've outscored their opponents, 311-30.

However, most of those teams were in the relatively weak Mission Valley Athletic League.

Logan High is led by a stingy, aggressive defense as well as quarterback Jeffrey Prothro and tailbacks Damond Beasley and Warren Miles.

The two teams have had a pair of common opponents this season. Both squads defeated Foothill High and Washington High of Fremont.
