Newark Memorial High crushed Mission San Jose High, 54-6, to continue their winning ways.

The Cougars celebrated homecoming by jumping out to a 20-0 lead in the first quarter. They stretched it out to 40-0 at halftime and then 54-0 in the third quarter.

Newark Memorial is now 4-2-1 overall and 3-1 in league play. They've won four out of their last five games.

The Warriors are 2-6 overall and 0-4 in league play. They've lost six in a row.

Castro Valley 49  Mt. Eden 0

Castro Valley High stayed on the winning track by blitzing winless Mt. Eden High, 49-0.

The Trojans led 35-0 at the half and never looked back.

Castro Valley is now 3-4 overall and 3-2 in league play. They have won three straight games.

Mt. Eden is 0-8 overall and 0-5 in league play. They've been shut out five times this season.

Update on Saturday games:

James Logan High cruised past Kennedy High of Hayward, 49-6. Logan is now 8-0 while Kennedy is 1-8.

San Leandro High shut out Arroyo High, 28-0. San Leandro is now 5-3 while Arroyo is 3-4. 

Bishop O'Dowd High romped over San Lorenzo High, 50-12. Bishop O'Dowd is now 6-2 while San Lorenzo falls to 0-8.
