Football: Logan Moves to 4-0 With Win Against Heritage
The Colts wrapped up a perfect non-league league and are eyeing a top-three seed in the North Coast Section playoffs.
In what might end up being its most difficult game of the regular season — at least on paper — the football team didn't have much trouble in a 42-28 win against Heritage in Brentwood.
The win closed the book on a 4-0 record in non-league, which for the Colts is very important.
"Everyone knows our league isn't that strong," coach George Zuber said. "We're focused on trying to get the No. 2 or No. 3 seed."

A loss out of league likely would have prevented that, but now the Colts are in good shape. Aided by Pittsburg's loss to Berkeley, Logan will more than likely lock up a No. 2 or No. 3 seed if it wins out — and it looks like smooth sailing from here.
Its next five games — all Mission Valley Athletic League contests — have blowout written all over them before the season finale against Washington. The Huskies, who at 0-4, don't necessarily look like contenders, but they gave a tough San Ramon Valley team a good game Friday night, before losing 31-20.

In Friday's game at Heritage, the Colts jumped out to a quick 21-0 lead on a pair of touchdown runs by Warren Long and a 40-yard touchdown reception by Ferdows Wahab. Heritage scored a touchdown near the end of the half and made it 21-14 early in the third quarter.
"At that point all of a sudden we had a game," Zuber said.
The Colts responded quickly as Amalani Fukofuka caught a 35-yard touchdown from Jeffrey Prothro and Long tacked on his third score to make it 34-14.
After another Heritage touchdown, Damond Beasley returned the ensuing kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown and the Colts sealed the victory.
