3rd Annual Mutt Strut Fundraiser

The New Haven Schools Foundation is holding its third annual Mutt Strut to benefit the children of New Haven Unified School District on Oct. 15 at the Masonic Homes of California.

The event will feature a walk/run, a Halloween-themed costume contest, doggy games and barbecue. Bianca Vierra, the current Miss Teenage California and New Haven student, will be one of the pet contest judges.

Advanced registration is $25 for one participant and $45 for two. Advanced registration comes with a t-shirt, barbecue ticket and goody bag.

Schedule for the day:

• 8:30 a.m.: Registration
• 9:30 a.m.: Race/walk begins
• 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: post race activities – Dog games and contests, BBQ

BBQ menu: Water, hot dogs, hamburgers, fruit (included in registration)

Games for dogs and their families:

• Musical chairs
• Hot dog eating contest
• Costume contest

Acacia Creek, a new senior housing at Masonic Homes, will also offer tours of their new facility.
