Win Box Seat Tickets for Justin Bieber Concert in Schools Foundation Raffle

Four box seat tickets are up for grabs for the Oct. 6 concert at the Oracle Arena in Oakland.

Want to be crowned World’s Greatest Parent by your daughter? Then you might want to hop on the ’s latest fundraiser.

The local nonprofit is raffling four box seat tickets to teen pop icon/heartthrob Justin Bieber’s Oct. 6 concert at the Oracle Arena.

“Justin Beiber is popular with younger kids,” said Barbara Aro-Valle, the foundation’s executive director. “It’s those little girls that go crazy over this guy.”

According to Aro-Valle, the tickets are valued at approximately $500 each. A regular admission ticket is priced at $103 with service fees, according to ticketmaster.com, with ticket packages selling for more than $1,000 on EBay.

However, all four box seat tickets could be yours for as little as $20, if you’re lucky.

A single raffle ticket costs $20, with discounted prices for bulk orders. Three tickets purchased together costs $40 with $100 scoring you nine raffle entries.

The raffle will close with a drawing on Sept. 28 at halftime during the James Logan High School football match. (Note: the date on the accompanying flyer states Sept. 21 but the deadline was extended to Sept. 28, Aro-Valle said.)

The tickets were donated by Alameda County District 2 Supervisor ’s office. Valle is the husband of Aro-Valle and an ardent supporter of New Haven schools.

The New Haven Schools Foundation’s Save Co-Curricular Raffle 2012 is part of the foundation and New Haven Boosters Association’s . The funds will pay for coach and instructor stipends, which have been hit by the state’s ongoing budget cuts.

According to the Foundation, the co-curricular budget will be $100,000 short for the 2012-13 school year.

The organizations are hoping to exceed their goal and raise more to help out school libraries. The district reduced secondary level library services to 25-percent of what it used to be, closing the Logan library.

“If possible, we’d like to raise another $25,000 to help the libraries,” Aro-Valle said.

While the foundation and Boosters successfully raised $100,000 last year through their various efforts, the money is coming in slower this year, Aro-Valle added.

“We’re having a harder time trying to get money in from parents,” she said.

The foundation has already delivered on a portion of their promise, delivering a $25,000 check to the district last month.

Aro-Valle hopes the Justin Bieber raffle will offer incentive to community members.

“Instead of just donating, you’re getting something — a chance to win these tickets,” she said.

Tickets for the drawing can be purchased by contacting Aro-Valle at 510-471-3850 or baro-valle@nhsfoundation.com, or downloading the order form above.
