Prom excitement will soon fill school hallways. But not everyone can afford to go to the highly coveted event.
That’s why the Princess Club at James Logan High School is asking community members to donate usable prom dresses and accessories that are still in good condition so that low-income students at Logan and Conley Caraballo aren’t left out.
Logan teacher Tina Bobadilla announced Tuesday that the annual donation drive is now underway.
Donations are being accepted at Logan’s main office during school hours.
Dresses can also be dropped off at Weddings and Dreams, located at 40528 Albrae St. in Fremont.
Anyone who drops off a used dress at Weddings and Dreams will receive a coupon of up to $25 toward a prom dress purchase or tuxedo rental, according to Bobadilla.
The Princess Club also collects caps and gowns for high school and middle school graduation ceremonies, Bobadilla said.
