New Haven to Hold Fundraising Events This Week

Proceeds from a rib-eating contest between members of the San Jose Sabercats and members of Alameda County Fire Department on Wednesday and a fundraiser at the Newark Baskin-Robbins on Saturday will benefit New Haven schools, the district says.

From the New Haven Unified School District:

New Haven schools will benefit Wednesday (June 20) when members of the San Jose Sabercats indoor football team will take on firefighters from the Alameda County Fire Department in the second annual rib-eating contest at the restaurant in Union Landing. The event starts at 5 p.m. All proceeds from the sale of $10 appetizer cards will be donated to the New Haven Boosters Association.

District students also will benefit Saturday (June 23) when the Project 51 program founded by the Keller Williams real estate office in Fremont hosts a fund-raiser at the Baskin-Robbins store in Newark. From 2 to 7 p.m., customers who mention “Project 51” and “New Haven Schools Foundation” when they order will have 20 percent of ice cream purchases donated to the Foundation. Information also will be available about agents willing to donate 51 percent of their commission from real-estate purchases to the Foundation. The store is at 34980 Newark Blvd.
