From the office of Assemblymember Bob Wieckowski:
Union City – Assemblymember Bob Wieckowski is inviting students and families in the New Haven Unified School District to a Middle School College Fair from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on October 2 at Cesar Chavez Middle School, 2801 Hop Valley Ranch Road in Union City.
Representatives from the California Student Aid Commission, Scholarshare and Wells Fargo will be on hand to discuss financial aid and planning options along with representatives from University of California Berkeley, University of California Davis, California State University, East Bay, University of San Francisco, Chabot College and Ohlone College.
“This is an opportunity for families to not only be introduced to schools in the area and their academic requirements, but also to learn how to financially prepare for the college journey and to take advantage of the many resources available,” Wieckowski said.
Reports indicate that California will need over one million more college graduates by the year 2025 to meet the state’s workforce needs. The Middle School College Fair aims to inspire students in the community to succeed and to assist parents in planning early for their child’s college years.
Students and parents seeking more information are encouraged to contact Assemblymember Wieckowski’s District Office at 510-440-9030.
