Logan Wrestlers Win Big at Regional Tournament

James Logan High School placed first at this weekend's 49th Overfelt Classic.

The James Logan High School boys wrestling team pinned a victory over their opponents at this weekend’s 49th Annual Overfelt Classic.

The regional event, held Saturday at San Jose’s Overfelt High School, is one of the premier tournaments in the region drawing in some of the top wrestlers from the area.

According to results posted on trackwrestling.com, Logan placed first in the tournament with 243.5 team points and 18 pins, beating out the second place Gilroy High School, who had 203.5 points and 17. Clovis East High School of Clovis placed third with 171 points and 15 pins.

The Logan Colts had several wrestlers in the finals with junior Clayton Hartwell nabbing first place in his weight class.

  • Ernie Alonso (115 lbs.): 3rd place
  • Felix Bonavente (128 lbs.): 2nd place
  • Clayton Hartwell (195 lbs.): 1st place champion
  • Joe Lacomba (287 lbs.): 2nd place
  • Jacob Macalolooy (138 lbs.): 2nd place
  • Ray Monela (108 lbs.): 2nd place
  • Shoiab Rasooli (184 lbs.): 2nd place
  • Brian Vigil (222 lbs.): 2nd place
  • Zack Wally (184 lbs.): 3rd place
