Logan High student Ashlee Stancill won the Viewers’ Choice Award in the “This Is How We Roll” video contest sponsored by Alameda County Safe Routes to School, teacher James Rardin reports. Ashlee, who put together a public service announcement on the advantages of walking, biking, carpooling or riding the bus to school, will be honored Thursday at an awards celebration dinner in Oakland.

Several other Logan students, most of whom are part of the school’s Electronic Media Production Academy, have been recognized for their participation in multimedia contests, teacher Mike Foster reports.

Senior Jasmine Bautista won third prize in the “YVote” contest sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Fremont, Newark and Union City.
