Challenger Nick Fresquez came last in the running with 4,517 votes.

In candidate forums, Fresquez pitched leftfield ideas, suggesting the district work with garbage companies to convert waste into alcohol in order to generate revenue.

Though many voters were upset at the school board’s persistence in pushing parcel taxes, which were shot down, it appears that didn't sway them from keeping them in office as the current leadership stays at the helm.

The next school board election will be in 2014 when the seats for trustees Sarabjit Cheema and Linda Canlas will be up for grabs.
