Deadline Approaching for Casino Night Fundraiser

"An Evening in Monte Carlo" will be held on Feb. 4. The event will feature casino games, a gourmet buffet dinner, wine and raffle prizes, including a trip to Hawaii, a sailboat tour and hotel stays.

The deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 1 to purchase tickets for “An Evening in Monte Carlo,” a fund-raiser being hosted Saturday, Feb. 4 by the . No tickets will be sold at the door for the event, which will be from 6 to 10:30 p.m. at the .

The Foundation, which raises money for college scholarships and classroom mini-grants, also pledged $100,000 this year to help sustain after-school athletics, band, forensics and other programs.

Guests at the "casino night" Saturday will be treated to a gourmet buffet dinner, catered by of Union City, and will receive an imaginary bankroll of $1,000 to compete for prizes in Black Jack, Texas Hold ‘em, craps and roulette. Prizes and auction items include two round-trip tickets to Hawaii, a three-day/two night stay at a Tahoe/Truckee cabin, a 42-inch flat-screen television, a luxury box for 20 people at an Oakland A’s game, a sailing tour and lunch on San Francisco Bay and one-night getaways at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco and the Sheraton Sonoma County.

There will be champagne from J Vineyards, wines from Aquinas, Decoy and Acacia and specialty cocktails, as well as premium beer from Gordon Biersch an espresso cart hosted by Too Much Fun Club, Inc.

Tickets are priced at $100, half of which is tax-deductible. Attire will be semi-formal and guests must be 21 or older to attend. For last-minute tickets, call 510-471-3850.
