Asm. Wieckowski's "Made in California" Jobs Initiative Kick-off

Dear Friends,

As your Assemblymember, it my top legislative priority to grow California’s economy and create well-paying jobs here in the 20th District and across our state. While California’s economy shows signs of improvement, I firmly believe that must take a more aggressive approach to revitalizing our economy.

That’s why I am kicking off the Made in California Jobs Initiative—a plan to spur growth by engaging businesses here in the 20th Assembly District and across the state of California.

In order for California to continue to be worldwide leaders in technology, innovation and creativity, we need a comprehensive plan to encourage businesses to expand and hire new workers. I want to hear from business leaders from the 20th Assembly District and discuss your concerns.

I would like to invite you to be a part of the dialog to get California’s economy back on track and join me for a roundtable discussion with fellow business and community leaders, along with Deputy Assistant Secretary Ro Khanna from the US Department of Commerce. The topic of discussion will focus on ideas regarding legislative incentives and my bill package.

The event is co-sponored by the Fremont, Newark and Union City Chambers of Commerce.

Roundtable participants include:
-Ro Khanna, Deputy Assistant Secretary, U.S. Department of Commerce
-Dennis Cima, Senior Vice-President, Silicon Valley Leadership Group
-Ben Bierman, Executive Vice President, Solyndra Inc.
-Lupe Lopez, Owner of Arteaga’s Food Center in Newark
-A representative from the California Small Business Association

Sincerely,

Bob Wieckowski
