I understand there is a fifth candidate for Fremont Mayor: Linda Susoev. I also understand that some Council and Mayor candidates will not file ballot statements because it costs $3400 (whereas school board candidates can file their statements at not cost). Can anyone verify this and explain why there is such a difference?

League of Women Voters will publish statements for all candidates in a voter guide. The County Registrar voter guide costs because it gets mailed out. League public is distributed thru libraries, volunteers, etc., as I recall. There are voter websites for such statements to be posted.
