City Hall Closed for Holidays

City Hall and most city facilities will be closed for the holidays, according to the City of Union City.

A majority of city services will be unavailable from Friday, Dec. 21 to Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013. Services will resume at their regular operating hours beginning Jan. 2.

Here's more information from the City of Union City:

• Emergency Services: Call 911 in the event of an emergency. Police, Fire and emergency services will continue to operate as normal.
• Garbage and Recycling: NO curbside garbage and recycling service on December 25 and January 1. Collection will be one day later than usual for Tuesday through Friday customers the last two weeks of the year.
• Union City Transit and Paratransit: There will be NO bus or paratransit service on Tuesday, December 25th and Tuesday, January 1st.
• Community Centers:  Holly and Kennedy community centers will be closed from Dec. 21 through January 1, except for pre-scheduled programs. Ruggieri Senior Center closed Dec. 21 through January 6.
• Union City Sports Center: Closed Christmas Day but open from 8 am to 1 pm on Dec. 24, 31 and January 1. Regular hours all other days.
• Union City Library:  Library open from 10 am to 6 pm on December 24th and January 31st. Closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
• City Council:  December 25 regularly scheduled meeting canceled. No public meetings during the closure period.
