Jon Jeffrey Quianzon, 31, of Union City, is accused of sexually assaulting two female patients while on the job, according to media reports.

A nurse accused of sexually assaulting two women while on the job pleaded not guilty in court Thursday, according to media reports.

Jon Jeffrey Quianzon, 31, of Union City faces four counts of sexual battery and one count of sodomy, the Fremont Argus reports.

One of the victims is a 21-year-old Hayward woman who visited the hospital for treatment June 10, police told the newspaper.

According to the Argus, a Washington Hospital employee claims to have witnessed the sexual assault and reported it. During the investigation, a second patient came forward and said she was sexually assaulted by Quianzon at the hospital in 2009.

Quianzon was exonerated by the hospital after an internal investigation of the 2009 allegation, the Argus reports.

"The hospital did their due diligence and cleared him of any wrongdoing," Quianzon’s attorney Frank Leidman told an Argus reporter. "He was placed on leave for a very short time and then reinstated."

After hearing about the alleged June incident, the hospital alerted authorities and Quianzon was arrested.

Quianzon is no longer employed at Washington Hospital and is out on a $135,000 bail, according to the Argus.

He is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 28 for a pretrial hearing.
