Union City Police Arrest Man Suspected of Indecent Exposure

By Bay City News

Police have arrested a man suspected in a series of indecent exposure incidents in Union City parks over the past year.

Between November 2012 and September, Union City police received multiple reports of indecent exposure in the area of Veterans Park and in Mariners Park, both on the west side of the city, police said.

In each of the incidents, victims reported similar suspect descriptions and behavior, according to police. Police said a lengthy investigation led them to a suspect identified as 20-year-old Shaquille Malik Thomas of Union City.

He was arrested at his home on Friday and has been charged in Alameda County Superior Court with 11 counts of indecent exposure, according to police.

Anyone with additional information about these incidents is asked to call Union City Police at (510) 471-1365. Those who prefer to remain anonymous may call (510) 675-5207 or email tips@unioncity.org.
