Update: Victim Identified in Fatal Shooting

A 34-year-old Union City man was shot and killed on Eighth Street Saturday night. It is Union City's first homicide of 2011.

Police are searching for suspects in the fatal shooting of a man in the Decoto neighborhood Saturday night.

At 11 p.m., police responded to a call of shots fired on the 33600 block ofΒ  Eighth Street and found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.

The victim was identified as 34-year-old Anthony Francisco Ramirez of Union City.

This is Union City’s first homicide of 2011, according to Lt. Mark Quindoy of the UCPD. The last homicide occurred in September of 2010 during a domestic dispute, Quindoy said.

Police are investigating Saturday night's shooting.
