Update: Two Arrested in Weekend Double Homicide

Eric Estrada, 22, and Robert "Dylan" Redding, 19, have been arrested and charged with two counts of murder.

Two alleged gang members have been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection to a fatal shooting that left two dead in Union City's Decoto neighborhood.

According to the Union City Police Department, Eric Estrada, 22, of Hayward and Union City, and Robert "Dylan" Redding, 19, of Union City, have been arrested and charged with two counts of murder for the slaying of Daniel Garcia-Sanchez, 21, and Carlos Estrada-Partida, 18.

Officers responded to reports of multiple shots fired on the 33400 block of 11th Street at about 1 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 25.

Responding officers found both Garcia-Sanchez and Estrada-Partida lying in the roadway. Garcia-Sanchez was pronounced dead at the scene. Estrada-Partida was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries — just two weeks shy of his 19th birthday.

Eric Estrada and Redding were arrested Thursday as part of a joint investigation between Union City police, Hayward police and the Southern Alameda County Major Crimes Task Force.

According to the Union City Police Department, multiple people, including several juveniles, in Union City and Hayward were detained, questioned and released as part of the investigation.

Additional arrests may be made as the investigation continues, police said Thursday.
