Two teenagers were arrested on suspicion of burglary Friday morning after snatching a woman's purse at Starbucks on Decoto Road, police said.

According to Sgt. Tom Gorrie, the juveniles showed "intent to commit a theft," making the crime a burglary. The two suspects were waiting inside the Safeway Shopping Center coffee shop to prey on patrons, he said.

Shortly before 10 a.m., a woman in her 40s placed her purse on a table. That's when the suspects grabbed her purse and ran.

The victim, her niece and four other patrons chased the teens through the rear exit of the shopping center as they ran toward the Avalon Bay Apartments near the BART station.

Nearby officers responded to the scene and were able to locate and corner one suspect at the apartment complex. The other was arrested on Alvarado-Niles Road near Los Dos Gallos Taqueria, Gorrie said.
