Police Log: Armed Robbery at Domino’s Pizza; Woman Bites Man’s Hand at Gas Station Bathroom

A summary of recent activity reported by UCPD.

 

The following is a summary of significant crime and incidents reported in Union City between April 11 and 15 as released by the Union City Police Department. Reports have been edited for Patch style.

Man arrested with loaded gun, drugs after traffic stop

A man found himself behind bars after being stopped by police for driving with a broken brake light. An officer stopped the vehicle around 2:30 p.m. along Dyer street. When the officer approached the car, he smelled marijuana. A search of the car found marijuana, cocaine and a loaded and stolen glock 22 handgun. The gun had a round in the chamber with a high capacity magazine. Both the driver and the passenger were arrested.

Meth-littering bicyclist arrested

An officer patrolling the area of 9th Street around 8:45 p.m. spotted a bicyclist riding down the middle of the street with no lights. When the bicyclist saw the officer, he threw something on the ground. The officer stopped the bicyclist and found a baggy of meth. The suspect was arrested and taken to jail.

SATURDAY, APRIL 13
 

Man hits victim with car in argument

Officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call on 4th Street at around 9:08 p.m. Two people were arguing over a set of keys when one of them hit the other with his car. The driver was arrested and the other was transported to the hospital.

SUNDAY, APRIL 14

Woman bites man’s hand at gas station bathroom

A woman bit a man’s hand outside of the Mission Boulevard Shell station bathroom after he refused to hand over the bathroom key. The incident occurred at around 8:40 p.m. as the man exited the bathroom. The woman demanded he give her the key but the man told her to get the key from the station attendant. That’s when she bit his hand and hit him, leaving him with a laceration on his head. 

Arriving officers did not locate the suspect but received an anonymous report later about the suspect being spotted on 2nd Street. Officers responded a 2nd Street home where they located the suspect. She was identified by the victim and arrested.

MONDAY, APRIL 15

Armed robbery at Domino’s Pizza

Two suspects robbed the Domino’s Pizza on Alvarado-Niles Road at gunpoint. The suspects entered the store at around 10:50 p.m., pointed handguns at employees and jumped over the counter, demanding they open the safe. The suspects took cash and the employees’ cell phones before fleeing. Arriving officers found the stolen cell phones outside of the restaurant but could not locate the suspects.
