Police Arrest Four Suspects in Attempted Burglary

The arrests were made at a Four Corners shopping center near Fremont Bank on Alvarado Boulevard

Authorities arrested four suspects at a busy Union City shopping center in connection to an attempted burglary in Fremont this morning.

According to witnesses at the Four Corners shopping center on Alvarado Boulevard and Dyer Street, police surrounded a white Lexus parked near and removed four men from the car at gunpoint at about 11:20 a.m.

One woman at the busy strip mall said she ducked and hid behind boxes at the nearby UPS Store as a precaution.

Though Union City police made the initial stop, Fremont police responded and took over the investigation.

According to Det. Bill Veteran of the Fremont Police Department, the investigation is connected to an attempted home burglary that occurred at 9:30 a.m. in the Cabrillo neighborhood in Fremont.

Fremont police brought witnesses to the scene to identifiy the suspects, Veteran said.

By 12:45 p.m., officers had left the area.
