Police Arrest 3 Juveniles in String of Home Burglaries

Union City police say three suspects, all under the age of 18, are believed to have burglarized at least four homes Tuesday evening.

Union City police arrested three male suspects, all under the age of 18, in connection with a series of home burglaries near early Tuesday evening.

The juveniles are believed to have burglarized, or attempted to burglarize, four homes, according to Sgt. Travis Souza.

The victimized residences were located in the area near Dyer Street and Regents Boulevard, including a home on Muirwood Drive, said Sgt. Javier Diaz.

Police started receiving calls around 6:20 p.m. from multiple victims reporting three juveniles knocking on their front doors and then entering their backyards, according to a police report.

Authorities responded to the area, where an officer spotted the suspects near the tennis courts at . The juveniles tried to evade the officer but were ultimately caught on Dyer Street, Souza said.

The suspects were identified by victims and arrested.

Police are currently investigating to determine if the juveniles were involved in past burglaries, Diaz said.
