The train was traveling from Sacramento to San Jose when it struck the victim at about 1 p.m., Amtrak spokeswoman Danelle Hunter said.

No passengers or crew onboard the train were injured, Hunter said. Passengers were bused to their final destination, and other Capitol Corridor trains were being rerouted around the area while an investigation was under way, Hunter said.

No significant delays were reported.

Motorists told Patch that Nursery Avenue between Mission and Niles boulevards was closed throughout the afternoon but roads were re-open by 4:45 p.m.
