Zhou Jun Hou, 27, of Oakland, was arrested Thursday in connection to the theft of more than $200,000 in supplies from Union City pet product company Healthy Pets.

An employee at a Union City pet product company was arrested Thursday on suspicion of stealing more than $200,000 in supplies.

Union City police say Zhou Jun Hou, 27, of Oakland, was shipping supplies from Healthy Pets, located at 34501 7th St., to a home in San Leandro. He was mostly stealing pet medication and anti-flea products, police said.

Officers tried to contact Hou at Healthy Pets but the suspect fled prior to their arrival, police said.

Union City police, with the help of San Leandro police officers, located Hou at the San Leandro residence shortly after where he was arrested.

According to police, the owner of the home was unaware of the illegal nature of the shipments and helped authorities recover a majority of the stolen merchandise.

Police were able to recover more than $120,000 in stolen products.
