Pedestrian Killed In Sunday Morning Accident

Police say pedestrian was hit while walking on Mission Boulevard

A vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian in Union City early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to a report of a major-injury collision on Mission Boulevard near Daggett Avenue at about 5:15 a.m., according to Union City police.

Preliminary information revealed that a vehicle traveling south on Mission Boulevard struck a person who was on the roadway, police said.

The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene by Alameda County Fire paramedics.

The driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
