Motorcyclist Dies in Fremont Crash

The 54-year-old Fremont resident died following a collision with a van Sunday evening.

A Fremont motorcyclist was killed following a collision with a Union City driver in Fremont Sunday evening, according to media reports.

According to the Fremont Argus, the 54-year-old Fremont resident was riding southbound on the 44000 block of Fremont Boulevard on a Harley Davidson around 6 p.m. when a Chevrolet van pulled out of a driveway.

The van, driven by a 63-year-old Union City resident, was making a left turn, the newspaper reports. The motorcyclist tried to stop but crashed into the left side of the van, police told the Argus.

The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. His name has not yet been released.

According to the Argus report, alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the accident.
