Suspect Who Ran Over CHP Motorcycle in Fremont Arrested in Union City

The officer was not injured and the suspect was later found by Union City Police.

A driver who ran over a California Highway Patrol officer's motorcycle to escape a traffic stop in Fremont Sunday afternoon was later arrested in Union City after two hit-and-run crashes, Fremont police said.
A CHP officer pulled over a suspected stolen BMW Z3 convertible on Interstate Highway 880 near the Decoto Road off-ramp at 4:42 p.m., according to Fremont police. The suspect reversed the BMW, drove over the CHP officer's motorcycle and left the highway onto Decoto Road, Fremont police said.
The officer was not injured. The suspect fled east on Decoto Road into Union City and caused two crashes along the way - including one near the intersection of Decoto Road and Fremont Boulevard in Fremont, Fremont police said.
Union City police eventually found the vehicle abandoned in Union City and then found and arrested the suspect, Fremont police said.
