Man Airlifted to Hospital After Driveway Car Fire

The victim sustained burns to his hands, arms and abdomen, a fire official said.

A man was airlifted to a hospital after being injured in a car fire in his driveway Wednesday afternoon, a fire official said.

According to the Alameda County Fire Department, the fire occurred at about 1:20 p.m. at a home on Regents Boulevard.

Responding crews found a man suffering from burn injuries. The man sustained burns to his hands, arms and abdomen, said Alameda County Fire Department spokeswoman Aisha Knowles.

Paramedic crews provided treatment on scene and moved him to , where the victim was airlifted via helicopter and flown to a burn hospital in San Jose for treatment, Knowles said.
