Juveniles Burglarize and Vandalize 32 Cars at Avalon Apartments

Two 14-year-olds and a 16-year-old were arrested in connection to the crimes.

Three juveniles were arrested Friday morning after a burglary and vandalism spree of 32 cars — including a Corvette and Ferrari — at the Avalon Union City apartments.

According to the Union City Police Department, authorities received a report at about 6 a.m. of suspects breaking the windows of cars in the Avalon apartments parking garage, located at 24 Union Square Dr.

Arriving officers found 32 cars in the multi-story parking garage that were vandalized, burglarized or both, police said.

Shorty after, officers located and arrested three juvenile suspects. The three suspects, two 14-year-olds and a 16-year-old, were arrests on suspicion of conspiracy, burglary, vandalism, auto theft and possession of stolen property.

The suspects targeted cars that had items left in plain view, police said. They also intentionally vandalized expensive cars, such as a Corvette and a Ferrari.

UCPD reminds community members to remove expensive items from your vehicles or store them out of sight.

The avalon union city apartment's security is a big joke, the prople working here are miserable with no courtesy what so ever, stupid ___, and for those kids i have no mercy & wish they get what they deserve for disturbing so many lives!!

I had the same ideas. I wonder if the parents can be held for murder when they get the bill for all the damages. The teenagers are destined for a major prison. They need more than a few weeks of hard labor.

AVALON IS STARTING TO BECOME GHETTO..COPS/FIRE FIGHTERS/ AMBULANCE THERE TOO MUCH! IT ISN'T SECTION 8, BUT THEY DO HAVE A LOW INCOME PROGRAM. THEY ARE REALLY OVER PRICED! YOU CAN GO RENT A 3 BEDROOM HOME WITH THE COST OF A 1 BEDROOM RATE AT AVALON. THE PEOPLE IN THE OFFICE ARE REAL NICE, BUT NEVER DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE PROBLEMS THAT GO ON IN THE COMMUNITY...THEY DO NEED BETTER SECURITY PATROLING THE COMMUNITY AND NOT SECURITY THAT IS JUST GONNA TOW YOUR CAR FOR PARKING IN THE FUTURE RESIDENT/GUEST PARKING WITHOUT A RED PARKING PASS AFTER HOURS! RIDICULOUS! NO CAMERAS WHATSO EVER IN THE "SECURED" PARKING GARAGE! I CAN GO ON ABOUT THIS PLACE! CAN'T WAIT TO MOVE OUT!
