Hadnot’s Widow Grateful Her Husband’s Alleged Killer Is In Jail

Irlanda Hadnot, widow of Keith Hadnot, expressed her relief at news of the arrest of Alfonso Johnson on Jan. 29, in connection with the

“We are all very happy,” Irlanda Hadnot told Patch. “It is never gonna bring Keith back, but it makes it easier to swallow to know that this guy is not out enjoying his life.”

Hadnot praised the professionalism and sensitivity of the Union City Police Department — especially the detective handling the case.

“He always followed up with me and updated me through the entire investigation,” she noted. “I had begun losing faith because it had been so long. I was afraid this guy was gonna get away.”

Hadnot also wanted to give her thanks to her parents, family and God.

She said she had been praying every night and finally “her prayers were answered.”

Hadnot and her father attended Johnson’s arraignment yesterday and although she could not see him she said she was glad to know he was in the courtroom. According to Hadnot, last night was the best sleep she has had for months.

She added she and her children are doing well.

“Every night we go out and say good night to daddy while we look up at the stars,” she said. “They look at his pictures and I tell them he loves them. Keith can finally rest in peace now.”

Keith Hadnot was found dead on the 4100 block of Venus Place around 5 p.m. on June 14 when officers responded to a call of shots fired. He suffered from at least one gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hadnot, who was 34 at the time of his death, was a Milpitas native who was living in Union City with his wife and five children. His loved ones described him as a .
