Firefighters Contain Delores Drive House Fire

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Fire officials are investigating the cause of a one-alarm fire at a Delores Drive home.

According to the Alameda County Fire Department Battalion Chief Kris Kerstetter, the late Friday afternoon fire may have been caused by smoking materials, possibly a cigarette.

No injuries were reported.

The fire started in the garage at a little before 4:30 p.m. Friday and was contained within 30 minutes. Six fire vehicles and 21 firefighters responded to the scene.

According to a resident of the home, there were two people inside at the time of the fire, both of whom escaped safely.

The fire did not appear to have spread to neighboring homes. The amount of damage had not yet been assessed, but “fire hazard” tape was placed around the garage.
