Fire Hydrant Makes Road Wet Before The Rain

A fire hydrant was sheared off Thursday morning, according to Newark residents.

Water shot up toward the sky before rain came falling from it in Newark Thursday morning.

Newark residents reported that a fire hydrant on Balentine Drive was sheared off around 7:35 a.m.

We're waiting to hear back from fire officials to learn whether there is more information on this odd incident. In the meantime, check out a video from Diane Zapata and a photo submitted by Patricia Moore above to see the action that was captured.

Good Shot Diane. Most people would cut off the tape and leave, but you stayed and got the Engine Arriving which adds perspective to the overall Incident. I encourage anyone else who see's Odd or Suspicious things happening in town to do the same if you can. Remember it's perfectly Legal to Film or Photograph in a Public area as there's no reasonable expectation of Privacy. Even on Residential streets or in Apartment Complexes. As long as you aren't peeking through windows and spying on people it's fine.
