A family of five has been displaced after a fire sparked inside of their home just after 2 a.m., fire officials said.
Deputy Chief Dave Lord said firefighters responded to the 8100 block of Merione Drive to find the two-story home fully engulfed in flames.
The residents were awoken shortly before the fire and were able to escape the blaze without injuries, Lord said.
Damage caused by the fire is estimated at more than $100,000 and the entire house was destroyed, Lord said. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, he added.
The fire was contained after 55 minutes, Lord said.
There were no injuries to firefighters or victims, but Lord said the residents may have lost a family dog to the blaze. Red Cross is assisting the family, he added.
