Bomb Scare Briefly Shuts Down Walmart

No threat was found, police said.

An anonymous bomb threat briefly shut down the Union Landing Walmart early Friday evening.

According to Sgt. Victor Derting of the Union City Police Department, the store received a generic bomb threat at about 5 p.m.

Multiple police and emergency units responded to the store.

Everyone inside the store was evacuated and a perimeter was set up around the parking lot.

Authorities conducted a search but no threat or danger was found, Derting said.

The area was cleared in about 30 minutes, according to Derting.
