Bicyclist Dies After Accident on Alameda Creek Trail in Fremont

East Bay Regional Park District police ask for help in identifying a man who was killed in a fatal bicycle accident Tuesday.

Bay City News Service—Investigators are working to identify a bicyclist who was killed in an accident on the Alameda Creek Regional Trail in Fremont on Tuesday afternoon, according to East Bay Regional Park District police.

Officers responded to reports of a bike accident on the trail—which runs through Union City, Newark and Fremont—under Interstate Highway 880 in Fremont at about 12:50 p.m.

The bicyclist was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.

The man had no identification on him, and anyone with information about him is urged to call the East Bay Regional Park District Police Department investigations unit at 510-690-6549.

The victim is described as an Asian man between 55 and 60 years old, about 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall, and weighing about 180 pounds.

He was wearing a green jacket, a black baseball cap, a light green Retro Fox sweater, a white T-shirt, gray sweat pants, and brown size 12 SAS loafer-type shoes, according to police.
