Armed Robbers Strike Fremont High-Tech Company, Tie Up Employees

A group of 15 armed robbers held up Unigen Corp. in Fremont on Sunday, tying up employees and stealing computer equipment.

Bay City News - A group of 15 armed robbers raided a high-tech company in Fremont on Sunday morning, tying up employees and stealing computer components, police said today.

The suspects took over Unigen Corp., 45388 Warm Springs Rd., at about 8:45 a.m., Sgt. Chris Mazzone said.

Armed with rifles and handguns, they tied up the five or six employees who were in the building, Mazzone said.

The suspects, who were all wearing masks and dark clothing, spent about half an hour removing computer components before fleeing in a moving truck, Mazzone said.

The employees were not injured and were able to remove the restraints to call police after the intruders fled, Mazzone said.

The robbery is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fremont Police Department at 510-790-6800.
