Bay City News Service — Police arrested an Alameda County sheriff's deputy Tuesday morning on suspicion of raping a woman in Moraga several months ago, Moraga's police chief said.
David Reta, 27, of Union City, was arrested during his shift at the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday on suspicion of sexually assaulting a Moraga woman in September, Moraga police Chief Robert Priebe said.
Police obtained a warrant for Reta's arrest on Tuesday, Priebe said. He was arrested on suspicion of forcible rape and attempted forcible oral copulation.
Priebe said Reta and the alleged victim knew each other.
Reta was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility this morning but was released this afternoon on $125,000 bail, Contra Costa County sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee said.
