Poll: Where Will You Cheer On The Niners?

Also, a list of five local restaurants that play sports games.

It's time to break out your red and gold gear.

Saturday's 49ers and Saints game has everyone talking and making bets, even the mayors of San Francisco and New Orleans.

San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee and New Orleans Mayor Mitchell Landrieu have made a friendly wager against one another.

The bet?

Lee will be devouring Louisiana seafood, Abita beer and a Sucre king cake if the 49ers win, but if they lose, he'll be sending Landrieu seafood from San Francisco, Boudin sourdough bread and Anchor Steam beer.

"Our 49ers are a source of pride for San Francisco and the entire Bay Area," Lee said in a statement. "While I'm excited to make this bet with Mayor Landrieu, we have no intention of sending anything to New Orleans. Go Niners!" Landrieu countered, "We don't expect to be sending any (food) to the Bay City anytime soon. We look forward to sampling Dungeness crab and other San Francisco treats next week."

The game begins at 1:35 p.m. at Candlestick Park in San Francisco.

And because we know not everyone can make it out ot the city, here's a list of five local spots you can visit that may be playing the game:

  • 5699 Mowry Ave., Newark
  • 31900 Dyer St., Union City
  • 31100 Courthouse Dr., Union City
  • Hooters, 3340 Mowry Ave., Fremont
  • , 36601 Newark Blvd., Newark

Tim, yous ay "lets hope they can keep the lights on in that shit box they call a stadium!" Your team doesn't even have a stadium and therefore do not play in either New York City or New York State. Your team should actually be called as the New Jersey Giants. Go figure it out if the New Jersey Giants can win this Sunday!

Yes, the NY giants play in East Rutherford, NJ at Metlife Stadium... a BEAUTIFUL place to watch a football game and a State of the Art facility. It's a stones throw away from midtown though either the Lincoln or Holland Tunnels.... I'm not sure why you want to bring this argument up now when your team will be the "Santa Clara 49ers" real soon and that's a hundred times further from SF than the Meadowlands is from NYC.

I spent most of the morning (on my drive to SoCal) listening to KNBR and WFAN (via my Android) and it's amazing to me how arrogant the 49ers fans calling into KNBR are. You guys haven't had a sniff in over a decade but you talk like you are the New England Patriots or something. Giants fans calling into WFAN bring much more rational discussion and thought into the mix. And unlike the annoying Saints and Packers fans, we know what Defense brings to the table and we respect it. We relied on it to win SB 42. Your defense is great and if you force turnovers you will likely win, but if the Giants don't make those mistakes, they will win. We have a better QB, passing game, and defense pass rush (just ask Aaron Rodgers). You have a better run game and a better run defense.

Anyway, best point is your 49ers got FIVE turnovers on the Saints, yet only won by 4 points.... your defense was worn down by the fourth quarter and the only thing that saved you was Alex Smith having the game of his career.... no way he repeats that again with a much better pass rush in his face.
