Holiday Fundraiser Nets $2,500 for County Food Bank

Residents on Queen Anne Court in Union City also collected more than 900 pounds of food.

Union City community members have shown their generosity once again by donating more than $2,500 in cash and more than 900 pounds of food to the Alameda County Food Bank via the Queen Anne Court holiday food drive.

Each holiday season since 2006, residents of Queen Anne Court decorate their homes inside and out in meticulous, dazzling details. They open up their neighborhood to visitors in exchange for donations for the local food bank.

From Dec. 14 to 22, residents collected $2,511 in cash and 924 pounds of food, according to William Scalice, one of the food drive organizers.
