Community Corner

Join us at SAVE's 12th Annual Breakfast Eye Opener!

SAVE (Safe Alternatives to Violent Environments) will host its 12th Annual Breakfast Eye Opener on Friday, September 26, 2014, from 7:30 to 9 am at the DoubleTree by Hilton Newark/Fremont at 39900 Balentine Drive, Newark, California.

This year’s event will celebrate SAVE’s community partnerships -- the donors, supporters, volunteers and friends, local businesses, social services organizations, faith communities, law enforcement agencies, and others who support SAVE and the individuals and families who seek shelter from abuse. There will also be a look back at SAVE’s history and SAVE’s new developments, including the Empowerment Center at SAVE. Event proceeds will provide critical revenue in support of SAVE’s array of domestic violence prevention and support services, including SAVE’s 30-bed emergency shelter, 24-hour hotline, counseling services, and teen dating violence awareness and prevention programs.

Tim Reilly of Umpqua Bank will serve as this year’s emcee and Fremont Police Captain Clarise Lew will provide the keynote speech. SAVE’s Executive Director Nina Clymer will discuss SAVE news and vision, and we’ll also welcome elected officials, including Senator Ellen Corbett and Newark Mayor Al Nagy. Sponsors to date include Fremont Bank Foundation, Washington Hospital Foundation, Dale Hardware, Cargill, Palo Alto Medical Foundation, The Cheung Family, and the Tri-City Voice.

Tickets are $75 per person, and both ad and sponsorship opportunities are available. For event info, call Sam or Tina at (510) 574-2250 or visit SAVE’s Breakfast page athttp://goo.gl/WleFx4.
