Walk to Feed the Hungry - San Jose to Mountain View

Come join us for a Walk to Feed the Hungry this Sunday, October 14, in San Jose, sponsored by Buddhist Global Relief. This walk is an opportunity to express our compassion through helping the poorest of the poor around the globe. This 12 pilgrimage walk will begin in front of the oldest Quaker House in California, which is also the meeting location for San Jose Insight Meditation Sangha, San Jose Dharma Punx and Floating Zendo. From there we will walk to Buddhi Vihara in Santa Clara and then on to Chung Tai Zen Center of Sunnyvale where everyone will be served a free vegetarian lunch and Dharma reflections will be offered by Dharma Master Jian Ying, Venerable Ajahn Gunaand Sister Santussika. The walk will end at the beautiful Sylvan Park in Mountain View, near public transportation. Please note that YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WALK THE ENTIRE 12 MILES - it is totally up to you.

Mindful walking, generosity, listening to Dhamma talks, and making spiritual friends are great ways to heal, brighten, and develop the mind as taught by the Buddha. Everyone is invited to attend this uplifting event.

BGR will give part of the proceeds of the walk to EarthSave's Meals for Health program in Oakland.

**The mission of Buddhist Global Relief (BGR) is to provide relief to the poor and needy throughout the world regardless of nationality, ethnicity, gender, or religion. Bearing in mind the Buddha's statements that "hunger is the worst kind of illness" and "the gift of food is the gift of life," BGR especially focuses on providing food aid to those afflicted by hunger and lack of food security. Its long-range goal, however, is to combat all the manifestations of poverty that detract from the inherent dignity of human life.
