Our next Open House is Saturday, January 26, 2013, from 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. After that, we will be open every 3rd Saturday of the month this year. There will be van service up to the Ranch from in front of the Sunol Event Center on Main Street. You can also ride your bikes or hike the road to the Ranch at 11901 Foothill Road or from the Pleasanton RIdgelands Park Entrance, also on Foothill Road, between Sunol and Pleasanton.
Hillcrest Ranch Sunol is home to 130-year-old olive trees that were farmed originally by my great-aunt, Grace Elliott. I am privileged to now own and farm the trees, using dry land organic farming methods. We harvest and press the olives into fabulous organic extra virgin olive oil that is available for purchase, and also make soaps from the oil and from lavender harvested here at the Ranch.
At our Open House, there will be free extra virgin olive oil tastings, a soap making demonstration, milling demo and olive brining, delicious hot soups available for purchase made from our own olive oil, baked goods made with our olive oil, wine tastings, a self-guided historical walk, and inspiring views. We would love to have you join us.
Yours in the love of virgin olive oil,
Kathleen Elliott, Owner
